Effective Date: This revision of the Faculty Handbook was approved by the Board of Trustees on June 7, 2019.

Summary: The Faculty Handbook was developed by the Faculty and the Administration of Howard University for the purpose of fulfilling the University's mission, protecting academic freedom and faculty rights, and providing a framework for shared governance and shared responsibility necessary to conduct the work of the University. The Handbook reflects the policies in effect on the date of its adoption by the Board of Trustees and supersedes all prior versions of the Faculty Handbook.
